To Sleep, Perchance to Dream
Sleep is one-third of our lives: write a post about it. Do you love naps? Have trouble falling alseep? Wish you could remember your dreams? Remember something especially vivid? Snuggle under a blanket, or throw the windows wide open? Meditate on sleep.
Lying in the mothers lap
After a fun day
Sleep like a lullaby
Soothes the little infant
Fatigued, tanned bodies
Lie on the pavement
Sleep gives solace to them
Magical, sweet sleep
Sleep tender sleep
You ease the pain
Calm the nerves
And appease tired souls
Like a loving mother
Who dotes all her kids
You bring tranquil peace
To thief, saint, beggar and king
Sleep take me on a dream
To a world without walls
Where there is only joy and peace
And one does not belittle another

Twenty-five seven
Good news — another hour has just been added to every 24-hour day (don’t ask us how. We have powers). How do you use those extra sixty minutes?
I have experienced how insufficient sleep can wreak havoc with your day. Sleep is vital for me to refresh, rejuvenate and enjoy my day. I try to make it a point to have atleast a 1 hour afternoon nap on weekends and a good nights sleep every day.
Sleep and a good rest are vital for recuperation/recharging after an intense period of work, exam or stress. Sleep is a natural cure for many of our ailments and a good rest without any anxieties can do wonders to your body and mind and leave you feeling refreshed and ready to take on any challenge!
I do not need much time to knock off. When I go to bed, I usually take a book to read. After some time I just forget everything else, say my prayers and then I am fast asleep.
Here is a poem on Sleep that I had posted earlier:

Back to Life
After an especially long and exhausting drive or flight, a grueling week at work, or a mind-numbing exam period — what’s the one thing you do to feel human again?

Mr Sandman
What kind of sleeper are you? Do you drop off like a stone and awaken refreshed, or do you need pitch black and silence to drift off to dream?

Day 11 — When I’ve had a really bad day the first thing (not person) I reach for is…
THE BED ofcourse!!
Sleep according to me is one of the greatest of healers and comforters! It provides relief from pain, fatigue, stress and sorrow. An afternoon siesta on a weekend is one thing I really enjoy because I wake up recharged. Sleep is a natural healer and sufficient sleep can provide great relief from headaches, migraines and light fever.
Sleep deprivation can be considered as the cause of many diseases. I have experienced the effects of sleep deprivation before and I had to take sleeping pills to recover.
When one is asleep, one is closest to onself , as we drop all our wants and desires and allow ourselves to glide into peaceful slumber.
Here is a link to a poem that I wrote about sleep: https://sajeevkmenon.wordpress.com/2011/03/04/sleep/
Dreamworld
The whole world folds up in me
As I close my eyes at night
No objects, no thoughts, no space
Sleep brings me close to myself
I lie down lifeless
Yet life flows through me
And then my subconscious
Takes over me
I go on a voyage
Creating objects, thoughts, space
Conjuring up a dream world
As I go on a ride of fantasy
The alarm bell rings
And I wake up
Objects, thoughts and space
The whole world unfolds again
