Ready, Set, Go — Intuition

“Take ten minutes – no pauses! – to write about anything, unfiltered and unedited.  You can then publish the post as-is, or edit a bit first – your call”

I ntuition – where does it suddenly spring from?  I think that that magical moment springs up when we are working really hard on a problem… we eat, drink, sleep, dream about it.  Then when we are really tired and take a step back.. the pieces of the puzzle fall into place like magic and we have the Eureka moment!

Archimedes was sitting in his bathtub and just having fun when he noted that the water that was displaced was equal to his mass and he discovered buoyancy.  He was ecstatic and ran out into the street shouting “Eureka, Eureka”.

Kekule was working to solve the structure of the benzene molecule.  One day, sitting at the fireplace, he fell asleep, and he saw a serpent coiled up with its tail in its mouth.  And, the mystery that was giving him sleepless nights was solved in a moment.

So the first thing that we need to do is to have that burning desire for the truth and persevere hard.  And when we are burnt out, we need to step back and rest or have fun.   And in these moments of fun –like a blessing from the heavens, intuition will open the doors to the mysteries that we are trying to resolve!
