Childhood never ends
When you stop
To look at the full moon
And utter soft whispers
To the starlit sky
When you climb trees
Or play in roadside puddles
And dance in the rain
in gay abandon
When doubts rise from your bosom
And your eyes light up in wonder
When you move from one task to another
Without loss of energy
When you see no divisions
in colour, caste, race or religion
When you can laugh with joy
Or dance like nobody’s watching
Then there is a child in you
Brimming with boundless joy
Who knows only love
And Childhood never ends

Whimsical
I would rather trust my intuition
And commit a folly
Then trust someone who has
not even given it a try
I would rather be quirky and whimsical
Then live in studious discipline
For life is not just rocket science
And one does need a breather

Ally or Foe?
He wakes up in the morning
And trails me all day
As I walk outside
I see he is right behind
When night befalls
He disappears
This shadow of mine
Is he an Ally or Foe?

Peace
The ubiquitous lust for power
Constant strife and discord
War, discontent, terror and arson
The constant rhetoric and finger pointing
Arms race and nuclear buildup
Bloodshed and broken rubble
Shuffle like images in a kaleidoscope
The fleeting dove has lost its way
In this illusory maze
Deluded in anger , lust and envy
Its vision is blurred
Seeking the rainbow -utopian and ephemeral
The naive man rushes outward
Hidden in his own bosom
Is the lasting peace he seeks

Why I write poetry?
What is Poetry?
Poetry is a literary work in which the expression of feelings and ideas is given intensity by the use of distinctive style and rhythm. Poetry uses aesthetic and rythmic qualities of language to evoke meanings in place of prosaic ostensible meaning. It attemps to stir a reader’s imagination or emotions
How to write poetry?
Poetry has the following elements:
Structure : In poems, lines are often grouped together into what are called stanzas. Like paragraphs, stanzas are often used to organize ideas.
Imagery :
Poets use imagery to draw readers into a sensory experience. Images will often provide us with mental snapshots that appeal to our senses of sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell. In essence, images show us meaning; when we compare the snapshots in our mind to our own memories or experiences, we connect emotionally to the poem.
One Love
Bathed in your effulgence
I wake up to a new day
My senses enlivened
Are ready to play
I breathe, I walk
I eat. I talk
Every move
Arising from you
As I retire for the day
And sleep overcomes me
A dream plays
In the recesses of my mind
I find myself
In a loving embrace
Of soothing peace
And eternal love
Uncompromising
Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt
Like a flickerless flame
Uncompromising, steadfast
A beacon of values
A timeless lighthouse
In the limelight
or hidden from scrutiny
You shine forth
steady and tireless Read more…
Protest
Write a new post in response today’s word ‘Protest’
Her tender arms
Could not resist
The brutal force
Of animal instinct
The lecherous look
Of a trusted relative
Scared her to death
Beneath the sheets
The Golden Hour
6.00AM: The best hour of the day or too close to your 3:00AM bedtime?
The first rays of the sun outline the clouds
Breaking the dark of the night
The struggle has passed
Dawn has broken the spell
Somewhere over the horizon
The hues begin to change
Red, crimson, orange, yellow, blue
Morning announces its arrival
Flocks of birds set out
Friendly chirping cries of joy
Leaves are a flutter
Crying dew drops of joy
A serene calm prevails
Nature is at peace
An inner voice beckons
In the early hours of dawn
My favourite time of day
To play treasure hunt
Seeking to find the real me
Hidden somewhere in myself

New Internet Order
All the world’s countries have decided that the Internet itself needs a government. Your country asks you to run for Prime Minister of the ‘Net — do you accept? If so, what will your platform be?
Yo maan, this is my domain
Cause Im the PM of World Wide Web
Welcome to the virtual world
Where power is in terabytes
You are the apple of my eye
my followers on facebook and twitter
You spam my timelines
And post your updates
Information overflows in myspace
So be wary of a lurking threat
Stalkers, spammers and cyberbullies
Are preying on you in cyberspace
Double check your passwords
Secure yourself from hacks
Scan and clean your pc
from viruses and trojans
Shopping is a breeze
With Alibaba and Amazon
Don’t get carried away
Cause you still have to pay
Lets build bridges of trust
Not walls of hatred
As we unite for a common cause
To make the net safe place
