I want to know what love is…
We each have many types of love relationships — parents, children, spouses, friends. And they’re not always with people; you may love an animal, or a place. Is there a single idea or definition that runs through all the varieties of “love”?
All your life
We were the centre of your universe
How can I describe love
Patient, selfless, sincere?
The day I heard you speak
Tears streamed from my eyes
How can I describe love
Innocent, bright, wondrous?
The magic of your creation
Bewildering, Unfathomable
How can I describe love
Inspiring, Overwhelming, bliss
Shaking order into random motion
Blending art into my logic
Bringing music into mundane routine
Complementing the voids
Trying to define love
Is shining a candle to the sun
Lifting the veil of ignorance
Lead me into your light

I’d like to thank my cats!
You are receiving an award –- either one that already exists, or a new one created just for you. What would the award be, why are you being honored, and what would you say in your acceptance speech?
Today, I am excited, thrilled and elated to receive this World Championship of Public speaking award here in Las Vegas in front of toastmasters and friends from all over the world!
It has been a long, roller-coaster ride for me. I began my journey with Bishan Toastmasters club and ever since I have been actively involved in meetings, contests and networking.
After winning the club contest, the area contest, the division contest and the district level contests, I cannot believe that I came, I saw and I conquered it here too at the World Championship.
I would like to express my profound gratitude to my mentor who has worked with me and guided me throughout my journey.
This award means a lot to me and it would not be possible without the love of my parents and family who have supported
me always.
But most of all, I would like to express my thanks to each and every member of my club who have stood by me, encouraged me and motivated me throghout my journey.

We can be taught
What makes a teacher great?
Teachers are our role models. Some of my teachers made learning fun and the 45 minutes of their class was truly riching and fun.
One of my teachers had such a passion for maths and science that he transmitted the passion to his students. It was a joy to watch as he nurtured in us a love for these subjects. He taught us how to go out there and get our goal in life. He had strong ethics and values and led by example. He had a passion to make us worldly wise and not just bookish.
On the last day of school my teacher who taught us Leadership & Public speaking- wrote something in my notebook that I will never forget to this day –He wrote “Self conquest leads to world conquest”. I feel that these are the little things that teachers can inculcate in their children – a love of the subject, values and leadership.
In a classroom you find all types of students – some focussed and others easily distracted and hyperactive. A good teacher is able to engage the children in activities that bring out their unique nature and kindle the interest in the subject. A teacher enables the children to look at a problem from different perspectives so as to develop creativity and out of the box thinking.
With too much focus on maths and science and use of logic these days a teacher can help develop an enthusiasm in art and craft to balance the use of intuition with logic.
Teaching is not about reading from a book or writing words on the board. It does not promote rote learning. A teacher does not have to teach everything. He or she is more of a facilitator who builds a solid foundation and develops keen interest and curiosity so that the students are spurred by a desire to find out more.
Teaching is a noble profession as the foundations, ethics, morals and values that are built up during our primary years go on to define our character and leadership skills later on in life!

Circle of Five
A writer once said, You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” If this is true, which five people would you like to spend your time with?
I would consider it a great priviledge and honour if I could spend some time with these people. I would like to learn from these people but I still want to be my unique self. I believe that by spending more time with inspiring, motivating and humorous people some of their enthusiasm and creative energy would influence me and motivate me to become a better person.
Jerry Seinfeld
I enjoy watching him perform stand-up comedy as well as on the sitcom Seinfeld. He has a great sense of humour
Stephen Hawking
One great physicist I would love to meet in my lifetime. He is a very inspiring person.
Amitabh Bachchan
A superstar of Bollywood cinema who has made a name for himself in Hollywood also. He has a great personality with a towering figure and a baritone voice that captures everyones attention
Jim Rohn
One of my favourite motivational speakers. I would like to learn a lot from him.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
The man behind India’s successful space programme. A great scientist who inspires Indians everywhere with his great ideas and humility.

Plead the Fifth
What question do you hate to be asked? Why?
Where are you going?
How old are you?
When are you getting married?
Is it a boy or a girl?
How much do you make?
Why have you become so weak ?
Why are you so late from work?
What is your wi-fi password?
There is a limit to the pesky questions people can ask you which can intrude into your personal space. There are so many answers we do not know about the universe, science, technology but people would rather not discuss these. The favourite pastime is gossip.
People who ask these questions must be rather bored or have no hobby/personal interest because they are not interested in their own lives but would rather try to gather all personal details about you (even your bank balance).
Sometimes you think that these people need to be told off as they can be rather irritating and get on your nerves. But that may not always be the right approach.
Most of the time – the vitriol and gossip comes from a deep sense of lacking and inferiority complex. So, we have to realize for your own sense of well-being that this is not personal to you; it’s all about them and what is missing inside of them.
Understand that their lack of self-competence is driving them to take cheap shots at you because they see something in you that they want but can’t have, usually because they lack the discipline to put in effort or to try harder. Again, it’s not about you; it’s right back to what’s not going right inside of them.
