Day 06 – My worst cooking disaster involved _________ and this person/these people
I enjoy cooking and once a while I invade the kitchen. In one of my such adventures, I took up the challenge of preparing some ‘biryani’. I carefully gathered all the ingredients and arranged all the items nicely. Then I created layers of rice, vegetables in the pressure cooker but forgot to add sufficient water. After some time, there was a strong burning smell. The rice was burnt and stuck to the bottom of the cooker. It was not fit for human consumption and had to be disposed. It was already too late and I bought some food from outside.
But this experiment was very important for me because it made me a better cook and I am not afraid to try to make new dishes once a while!

Its great to see men cooking. I commend you Sajeev. The thing that sticks out for me is how hard it is to clean rice from a pot whether burnt or not!
You bet:) cleaning after cooking is the toughest part of the job!
quite similar to my experience frying siomai because the water ran out!
Thanks PM:)
Do you still have the recipe? I also like to try cooking new things, I want to try that one day.
Ah burnt rice, that smell is awful isnt it? I’ve burnt rice a few times myself, but you’re right, mistakes makes us better cooks 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
biryani sounds interesting. but since its involve rice cooking, i will just leave it with the experts.
LJ – you should be able to do it or atleast try it someday!
